Ken Schroder’s humble Big Band returns for their Christmas Gig at The Kelvin Club with special guest vocalist Rebecca Barnard.
Set 1:
7.30pm Small band Ken, Rebecca and rhythm section.
Set 2
9pm Rebecca is joined by the 17 piece Big Band.
Join the cream of Jazz musicians, who need no introduction other than to say they’re terrific soloists with a good story to tell, musically speaking.
Experience fabulous pieces from the the classic repertoire of Ellington, Basie, Gil Evans and Schroder (less classic, more local) Songs by Frank Loesser, Hugh Martin, Schroder, hoagy Carmichael, A.C. Jobim, Carl Fischer (who’s carl Fischer?) and more. Some fast, some slow, but all very engaging.
$30 (cash) on the night per person.
